Under 12s - Match Report |

at Grandholm
The game kicked off at a very wet, windy and cold Grandholm pitch. Dyce were soon on the attack but some resolute defending by the Glendale rearguard kept us at bay. Glendale started to show some attacking flair, and were stroking the ball around well, and it was clear from the early exchanges that this would be a competitive match. Glendale took the lead midway through the half, when a passing move involving three players, ended with the ball being knocked past Murray in goal. However, straight from the kick off the ball was passed to Kieran Heads, he took a touch and passed it wide to Cameron Gray who beat two defenders and crossed the ball in for STUART ARMSTRONG to stroke it into the net.........an excellent response boys. The remainder of the half saw both sides create chances, but both goalkeepers were on top form and were proving difficult to beat. We scored our second goal in the second period, and again it was a passing move involving three players which ended with a Stuart Armstrong cross come shot being knocked into the net from close range by SHAUN LAIRD. This ended the scoring in the game, but both sides continued to play good passing football which made for a very entertaining match. We finished the match just on top against a very good Glendale side, however the coaches were extremely happy with the performance of the team today. They battled hard in difficult conditions, and even when we made some changes, the boys knuckled down to the task. This ends the section of seven a side games, and we can now look forward to the second half of the season playing 11 a side matches, and start to mould the team to be ready to step up next season to competitive matches. Good performance today !!!!!! Well done boys.
