Goals Galore

The players of Dyce Boys Club will take part in our annual fundraising event with this year being goals galore.

Every age group will play football for an hour and all the goals will be added to give the grand total which all parents, grandparents, friends and basically anyone who fancies giving it a go will try and predict and win a prize for the closest guess!

The event will take place at various dates and venues in the first week of March so be sure to keep an eye out for the boys coming your way with their sponsorship forms and help support the boys club and maybe win in the process.

A helpful hint we have 8 age groups to all take place but sorry I cant give anymore help than that!

Merry Christmas and a happy New Year

U13's Colony Park Trophy Final Winners - Dyce Boys Club. Well done lads.

U13′s Colony Park Trophy Final Winners – Dyce Boys Club. Well done lads.

Never mind the end of season games in the Premiership, there was a far more important game being played at Colony Park Inverurie on Sunday when Dyce BC Under 13′s were playing Westdyke BC in the Colony Park Trophy Final, having beaten Fraserburgh on penalties in the second round after a 3-3 draw and then Peterhead 10-2 in the quarter finals which set up a semi final against Albion which was again won on penalties following a 0-0 draw.

The final was played in great spirit with both teams serving up a fantastic game of football for the large crowd who had came along to watch however as in every cup final there has to be a winner and on this occasion Dyce BC were victorious by 3 goals to 1.

Well done lads your first trophy in competitive football and the singing in the changing room after the match was also a sight to behold even if not very pleasant on the ear drums and you have made your coaches very proud as you can tell from the photo below.

Easter Cup Preston

Sunday 20th April 2014

Day 2 of the Preston Easter Cup and Dyce have one more league section match against Strathaven to ensure qualification to the semi final of the cup.

Game 1

Dyce BC v Strathhaven

Dyce battled right from the start and had the bulk of the pressure but it took until the thirtieth minute before the breakthrough came when Rory Brown used some clever footwork to get into the box and the Strathhaven defender brought him down and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot, Liam Strath stepped up and struck the ball into the net 1-0 Dyce.

This was no more than the Dyce pressure deserved.

Half time Dyce BC 1 Strathaven 0

Dyce scored a second goal forty seconds into the second half this time Mathew Tough getting on the score sheet 2-0 Dyce.

Dyce continued to press but were unable to capitalise on their pressure.

Well done lads another great effort from the whole team and we look forward to the Semi final where we have drawn SV Norden-Nordwest from Germany.

Game 2

Easter Cup Preston Semi Final

Dyce BC v SV Norden-Nordwest

Dyce got off to a great start when within four minutes Nathan Stewart opened the scoring but the game quickly deteriorated with the German teams going to ground following every tackle but Dyce continued to attempt to play football, however with twenty five minutes gone SV Norden-Nordwest score to make it 1-1.

Half time Dyce BC 1 SV Norden-Nordwest 1

With thirty five minutes gone SV Norden-Nordwest scored again but Dyce continued to battle and with fifty minutes on the clock Paul MacIntosh brought the scores level Dyce 2 SV Norden-Nordwest 2

Dyce pressed for the winner but it was the opposition who scored on the sixtieth minute to knock Dyce out.

Well done to the boys who kept their discipline .

Well done lads each and every one of you should be proud of the way you have performed this weekend and you have all been a credit to Dyce Boys Club.

I think all the lads enjoyed the tournament, I know that the coaches and parents did, back to normality on Tuesday when this time our travels take us to Alford for our next League ‘A’ encounter.

Preston – End of Day 1 at the Tournament

Under 13's

It’s been a long day…two games in one day, challenging decisions made on the pitch but one win and a draw is an excellent start to the Tournament but it’s taken it’s toll…now the adrenaline has worn off, the emotional stress of the day begins to show and eventually, the shutters just have to come down….

Night, night Owen’s Granda…..

If the U13′s coaches think I’m spending every 5mins uploading pictures because I’ve nothing better to do this weekend, they can think again however I feel it’s important to congratulate the U13′s on the first ever DBC ‘Selfie’….

Good Luck to the U13's at the Preston Easter Cup.

Good Luck to the U13′s at the Preston Easter Cup.

There is great excitement this week as the boys and coaches look out the sun cream, buckets & spades as they head to Preston on Friday to take part in the Easter Cup.

We are all looking forward to this event where we have been drawn in a group with two other teams from Scotland (St Mirren YFC, Strathaven Dynamo) and a team from the Republic of Ireland  (Corbally Utd) playing each team once and then the 1st & 2nd teams going into the semi finals of the cup with the 3rd & 4th teams going into a consolation trophy.

I will try to post results and brief reports from Preston which will appear on our web page.

We also have the opportunity to go to the Blackpool v Burnley game and Blackpool Pleasure park whilst we are there.

The boys and Coaches would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in the organising and special thanks to all who have been involved in sponsorship and fundraising for the event.

‘Were all going on our summer holidays ………….”

Come on Dyce let’s go there and bring back some silverware !!!!
