Ellon Meadows 2 - 12 Dyce Boys Club FC Sunday 21st September 2008 Deer Park, Ellon With the match reporter absent on the Aberdeen holiday weekend, this very much abbreviated match report was compiled retrospectively with details provided by Fraser’s dad. Dyce had Ross Irvine between the sticks, and Liam Strachan, Angus Burrows, Glenn Murison, Matty Dick, Fraser Wyness, Bruce Anderson and Bradley Neish in the blue and white hoops, meaning there was only one sub today. The game was played over three periods (2 x 20 minutes, and 1 x 15 minutes). After a brisk opening, Ellon opened the scoring to the delight of their supporters. Once Dyce settled, they came more into the game and responded with a flurry of goals to take the initiative, the first of these being a penalty. End of first period 1 - 5 Dyce were playing good passing football at this point and managed to score four more goals in this period, while Ellon notched up another goal and also hit the post. End of second period 2 - 9 In the final period Dyce managed to add another three goals to the tally. Full-time 2 - 12 After a slow start, the boys managed to get into their passing game, though they seemed to tire a little towards the end of the game – perhaps this was due to playing in some very long grass and there being only one sub. Well done to the Ellon lads too.
