East End FC 0 - 9 Dyce BC Sunday 5th October 2008 at Aulton 1st Period East End kicked off the proceedings on a sunny, but very blustery afternoon at Aulton. Dyce were first to threaten when a low cross from winger Alex Cobban was cut out by the East End goalkeeper after 4 minutes had gone. One minute later, East End gained a free kick just outside the Dyce box, but the resulting cross was well cleared out of the danger area by Cameron Laird who then initiated a Dyce attack by laying the ball off to Jordan Cromar. Jordan then released his namesake Jordan Clark on the left flank, whose shot was saved by the East End No1. Dyce continued to exert pressure and in the 8th minute won a corner on the right, which was taken by Jordan Cromar, who crossed deep into the East End penalty area. A goal mouth scramble ensued and Dan Middler saw his effort cleared off the line. However, Alex Cobban found a way through the massed defence and netted the opening goal to put Dyce in front. In the 10th minute Dyce threatened again with a well worked move down the left wing involving JD Gray, Jordan Cromar and finishing with a shot from inside the box by Cameron Laird, which was well saved by the East End keeper. A rare East End break saw their winger try to lay off the ball to his striking partner in the Dyce box, but Dyce keeper Charlie Allardes was off his line quickly to avert the danger. Another fine Dyce passing move, originating from Ben Leslie in the heart of the defence, saw Ben winning the ball and finding JD Gray in midfield. JD then laid the ball off to Jordan Cromar who flicked the ball on for Dan Middler inside the opposition penalty area. Dan then made no mistake and tucked the ball away to give Dyce a 2-0 lead. East End tried to reply with a fine passing move through midfield which nearly found their striker. However, Adam Monk made a fine tackle and saved the day for Dyce. With 16 minutes of the period gone, Dyce added a third goal with Aaron Penny heading home from a Jordan Cromar cross after another fine passing move that involved Jordan Clark, Cameron Laird and Alex Cobban. Three minutes later, Dyce stretched their lead to four goals after Adam Monk put a long ball into the East End penalty area and Jordan Clark pounced to drive a fine first time shot into the net. 1st Period; East End 0 Dyce 4 2nd Period Dyce continued to dominate the game and early exchanges in the second period saw a long range shot by Dan Middler fired just wide, but despite fine passing movement, most notably involving Shane Pirie and Dylan Mcelwee, they could not find the net. In the 11th minute of the period, Dyce came very close to claiming their fifth goal of the game, when again a fine bit of passing, this time starting with Adam Monk who played it short to Jack Pirie. Jack then played in Cameron Laird in midfield who in turn found Aaron Penny. Aaron’s excellent pass was received on the run by Shane Pirie on the left flank, Shane then made his way into the East End penalty area and laid the ball off to Dan Middler whose shot crashed off the crossbar. Another close shave for East End came in the 18th minute, again after good passing from Dyce involving Jordan Clark, Jack Pirie, Aaron Penny, Dan Middler and Alex Cobban, with Alex’s cross from the right being met by Dylan Mcelwee whose drive struck the East End goalkeeper’s right hand post. 2nd Period ; East End 0 Dyce 4 3rd Period After a goalless second period, Dyce were back in the groove as early as the 3rd minute of the final period, when a Jordan Cromar corner resulted in a goalmouth scramble and finally the ball broke to Jordan Clark on the edge of the penalty area who shot into the net for his second and Dyce’s fifth goal. In the 5th minute, Dyce winger JD Gray scored the goal of the game when he was released down the left wing by a Dylan Mcelwee pass; JD cut in from the wing and launched an unstoppable drive high into the net to give Dyce goal number six. Dyce’s pressure continued to be relentless and in the 9th minute a throw in from Jordan Clark was collected by Aaron Penny just outside the East End penalty area. Aaron then looped a high shot just under the bar and gave the home side goalkeeper no chance to claim his second goal and Dyce’s seventh. In the 13th minute Jordan Cromar latched on to a Cameron Pashley slide rule pass and scored Dyce’s eighth goal with a shot from just outside the penalty area. With one minute left Dyce rounded off a good performance with a second goal from Alex Cobban, who found himself free on the right wing and proceeded to beat the East End keeper with a low drive. Final Score : East End U12 0 Dyce BC U12 9 Man of the Match : Alex Cobban Well done lads. A good passing performance and plenty of goals despite the strong wind which threatened to spoil the game. Gordon and I would like to thank East End FC for providing us with a game and making the necessary arrangements with regard to venue and goal nets etc. We hope that we can have the opportunity to return the favour. |
