Peterhead BC  1 - 7  Dyce BC

Sunday 26th October 2008

at Peterhead

1st Period

Dyce started the match off, but Peterhead were first to get a shot in, with their left winger being set up by a fine pass from midfield; however, he drove wide.

This spurred Dyce on and they began to exert a bit of pressure on the Peterhead defence with some fine passing moves which finally resulted in a goal in the 9th minute. Dyce won a corner on the right, Alex Cobban took the corner short to Jordan Clark ,who put the ball into the box for Aaron Penny. Aaron’s shot was blocked by the Peterhead keeper, but he could not hold the ball and JD Gray made no mistake from around 8 yards out and shot home to give Dyce the lead.

Peterhead countered and Dyce gave away a free kick around 30 yards out. The Peterhead midfielder shot, but Dyce keeper Charlie Allardes gathered in easily.

In the 13th minute, a Peterhead forward was pushed inside the Dyce box and the referee awarded a penalty kick. The penalty taker placed the ball inside a diving Charlie Allardes right hand post to give the home side the equaliser.

Three minutes later, Dyce launched an attack which started off with a throw in on the left taken by JD Gray. JD found Aaron Penny who headed on to Jordan Cromar from just outside the Peterhead penalty area. Jordan then unleashed a fierce shot that went narrowly wide. A minute later Dyce came close, again from a throw in, this time from Jordan Clark who found Aaron Penny in the penalty area. Aaron knocked the ball on for Dan Middler who hit a low ball across goal which was cleared off the line by the Peterhead defence, but only as far as Aaron Penny who shot narrowly over the bar.

Aaron Penny and Jordan Cromar brought saves out of the Peterhead goalkeeper just at the end of the first period as Dyce continued to pressurise.

1st Period: Peterhead BC 1  Dyce BC 1

2nd Period

Dyce began the second period as they had left the first, pressurising the Peterhead defence and they took the lead in the 2nd minute after Jordan Cromar broke through the home side defence and shot across the goalkeeper only to see the ball come off the post. JD Gray, following up, had his effort blocked on the line. However Dyce were not to be denied and Dan Middler was in the right place at the right time to slot the ball home.

Two minutes later and Dyce struck again, this time after a great passing move that saw Jordan Clark in midfield find his namesake Jordan Cromar who put through a fine pass for Dan Middler. Dan then took the ball out wide and put Jordan Clark in possession again. Jordan then delivered the ball high into the Peterhead penalty area and an alert Alex Cobban got in behind the defence to shoot into the net and give Dyce their third goal.

Dyce continued to press relentlessly and it was no surprise when they went further ahead. Again Jordan Clark was in the centre of the action with a delivery into the penalty area, which was met by Dan Middler whose shot was blocked, but this time JD Gray was on hand to finish the move off and net Dyce’s fourth goal and his second. JD Gray claimed his hat trick a minute later, after a break down the right resulted in Alex Cobban crossing in to the Peterhead penalty area and JD was there with a shot from the edge of the box that found the net.

Peterhead tried to release the stranglehold that Dyce had on them, but they found Adam Monk and Jack Pirie in the heart of the Dyce defence on good form.

The 14th minute of the period saw Dyce win a corner on the right hand side. Alex Cobban put in a beautifully flighted cross which was touched on by Jordan Clark to Aaron Penny who shot past the Peterhead keeper to put Dyce 6-1 in the lead.

Cameron Laird came close in the 15th minute as his long range shot went narrowly wide after a Jordan Cromar throw in was headed on by Dan Middler who found Cameron on the edge of the penalty area. However, within a minute Dyce stretched their lead when Jordan Cromar latched on to a poor kick out from the Peterhead goalkeeper and proceeded to loop the ball over the keeper’s head and into the net to give Dyce their seventh goal.

Just at the end of the period a rare Peterhead break saw good harassing by Jack Pirie in the Dyce defence that saw the home striker put his shot well past.

2nd Period: Peterhead BC 1  Dyce BC 7

Third Period

In contrast to the second period, the third period was a more even affair with Peterhead having their chances, but again good defending by Jack Pirie, Adam Monk, a goal line clearance from JD Gray and a good catch from Charlie Allardes in the Dyce goal from an in swinging corner, prevented them from increasing their goals tally.

Dyce seemed to settle for the result as they took their foot off the gas and not many clear cut chances were created.

Final Score: Peterhead BC U12  1  Dyce BC U12 7

Man of the Match: Jordan Clark
