Dyce kicked off and were soon into the attack and a long range effort from Josh Bolton sailed narrowly over the bar in the 1st minute. However, two minutes later Josh Bolton had more luck, Dyce won a corner on the right and Cameron McArthur played it short to Owen Kinsella and the right back knocked it into the home penalty box for Duncan Forsyth whose shot was well saved by the goalkeeper, but, Josh following up cracked the loose ball home to put Dyce into the lead. Josh Bolton came close on another two occasions as Dyce continued to dominate the game and in the 10th minute Owen Kinsella's shot hit the side netting after playing a one-two passing move with Ross Craigen. The 13th minute saw Dyce increase their lead, Josh Bolton played the ball into the Inverbervie penalty area and it was headed on by Duncan Forsyth who found Cameron McArthur on the edge of the box and his shot found the net.Straight from the kick off, Inverbervie launched their first serious attack of the match and Dyce keeper, Calum Wilson had to move rapidly off his line to deny the home striker a shot on goal. Dyce reacted well to the Inverbervie threat and Josh Bolton collected a loose ball twenty yards out and with his back facing goal he turned and looped the ball high over the home goalkeeper's head and into the net to score a magnificent third goal for Dyce and his second. Inverbervie almost managed to get off the mark in the 16th minute, when their striker cashed in on complacency in the Dyce defence and was unlucky to see his effort go wide. Just at the end of the period, Cameron McArthur in the inside right position played the ball on for Josh Bolton who was advancing towards the Inverbervie penalty area and he launched another high looping shot over the home goalkeeper, to claim his hat trick and make it 4-0 for Dyce. 1st Period: Inverbervie 0 Dyce BC 4
2nd Period The second period followed a similar pattern to the first with Dyce controlling the game and Dyce midfielder Elliot Byers was unlucky to see his low shot go narrowly past the left hand post in the 3rd minute. A minute later saw a rare Inverbervie attack and they were awarded a free kick about 25 yards out from the Dyce goal, but the kick went harmlessly over John Steven's crossbar. An excellent passing phase by Dyce, involving Josh Milne and Duncan Forsyth, saw Elliot Byers set up for a shot just inside the Inverbervie box and he made no mistake to score goal number five. In the 7th minute of the period, another passing move from Dyce which saw Ewan McGregor release Josh Bolton into the home penalty area and Josh's low shot found the net making it four for him personally and six for Dyce. Inverbervie were down, but, not out, as they tried to launch another attack, but, they found Cameron Murray in the sweeper position make a telling interception as they tried to open their account. However, in the 9th minute, normal service was resumed as Josh Milne made a break up the right wing, cut inside and lobbed the ball over the advancing keeper and despite the Inverbervie defender getting his head to the ball, he could only force it into his own net. Two minutes later and Cory Ritchie drove narrowly past as Dyce continued to apply pressure. In the 19th minute Josh Milne was on the scoresheet again as Jordan Cooper put him away up the right wing with a fine pass and Josh cut inside yet again and shot low and hard into the net to claim his brace and put his side eight up. 2nd Period: Inverbervie 0 Dyce BC 8
3rd Period Further goals from Josh Milne, Craig Gill Ross Craigen and Jordan Cooper in the third period emphasised Dyce's hold on the game as the Inverbervie side tired. Final Score: Inverbervie Youth 0 Dyce BC 12 Man of the Match: Owen Kinsella Another fine performance lads in difficult conditions ( the grass was a little bit long), however, we've got to keep our concentration, as the defensive lapses that we had could have cost us a goal or two!! Gordon and I would like to thank Inverbervie youth for the game. Steve Robertson and Gordon Leslie | |||||
