Colony Barca 0
Dyce BC 4

Sunday 29th August 2010
Davidson Park, Inverurie

1st Period

A cool wet and blustery morning greeted the players as they lined up to start the game. Visits to Davidson Park have always proved awkward encounters in the past for Dyce and today was to be no exception.

Despite having a lot of early pressure and keeping the Colony defence busy, Dyce were unable to take advantage of the chances they were creating and a Ewan McGregor header went wide in the first minute, after Dyce won a corner on the right and this was followed by a Josh Milne shot that was saved well by the home keeper.

Ross Craigen, Cameron McArthur and Cameron Murray were combining well up the left flank as the away side continued to take the game to Colony and in the 19th minute the home keeper got down well to save a low drive from Dyce full back, Craig Gill.

Just at the end of the first period, Josh Milne made a break up the left and squared the ball to his striking partner, Ross Craigen in the box and Ross made no mistake with his low shot to open the scoring and put Dyce one up.

1st Period: Colony Barca  0   Dyce BC  1

2nd Period

The second period followed a similar pattern to the first with Dyce having the better of the exchanges. However, Dyce keeper John Stevens was called into action, early in the period, to save a long range effort from a Colony midfielder and in the 7th minute, Colony so nearly grabbed an equaliser, when a mix up in the Dyce defence saw Cory Ritchie and John Stevens leave the ball for one another and the Colony No 8 nipped in and shot only to see the ball rebound off the post and back into the arms of a grateful Dyce keeper.

Again, a good reaction from Dyce, as in some of the previous games, saw them go further in front in the 12th minute of the period, when a fluid passing move initiated by Craig Gill put Ally Naysmith away down the right wing and Ally crossed low to find Josh Milne who prodded the ball past the home keeper to double Dyce's advantage. Four minutes later and Dyce went further ahead when Josh Bolton pushed the ball forward for his namesake Josh Milne, who crossed in the box for Duncan Forsyth who arrived on cue to slot the ball home to make it three for Dyce.

Jordan Cooper was unlucky to shoot wide in the 18th minute after a passing move involving Duncan Forsyth and Josh Milne set him up in the box.

2nd Period: Colony Barca  0   Dyce BC  3

3rd Period

Dyce kicked off the final period of the match and in the first minute made the first chance with Duncan Forsyth shooting wide after playing a one -two with Ross Craigen. A rare Colony attack a minute later, saw Dyce keeper John Stevens do well to cut out a dangerous cross from the home right winger.

In defence, however, Dyce were not troubled too much and defenders Cory Ritchie, Owen Kinsella, Craig Gill and Cameron Murray were policing the Colony attackers well and making life relatively trouble free for keepers Calum Wilson and John Stevens.

Also in midfield Ewan McGregor, Elliot Byers, Ally Naysmith, Cameron McArthur, Jordan Cooper and Josh Bolton were working hard to control this crucial area of the pitch.

Jordan Cooper was again unlucky as he attempted to lob the Colony keeper, who saved well, midway through the period and the home keeper did well to thwart Ross Craigen as he was put through on goal by Elliot Byers.

Just at the end of the game, a Dyce break saw Ross Craigen take the ball into the Colony penalty area, round the keeper and cut the ball back for Josh Bolton who shot into the net to make it four for Dyce just on the final whistle.

Final Score: Colony Barca   0  Dyce BC   4

Man of the Match: Josh Bolton

Another good win guys, some good passing and you took your chances well considering the 7 a-side goals.

Gordon and I would like to thank Colony Barca for the game.
