Dyce Boys Club   7 - 1  Stonehaven Munich

Sunday 4th November  2007

Webster Park

This fixture against Stonehaven Munich was played at Webster Park, Kingswells on a crisp, clear Sunday morning.

Dyce started the match well and took the lead with one of their first attacks.  Liam Strachan moved out of defence and played the ball out to Bradley Neish on the left, who crossed for Bruce Anderson to score with a right foot shot.

After another driving run into midfield, Liam passed to Fraser Wyness who shot just wide.  Liam and Dylan Smith in defence were coping well and breaking down Stonehaven attacks before they reached Cameron Shore , who was in goals for the first half.  The next Dyce attack saw Bruce play a through ball to Glenn Murison, who turned smartly but fired just over.

Again moving the ball well out of defence, Dylan passed to Bruce, who fed Bradley near the goal line.  He went on a tricky run towards goal but his effort was smothered at the near post by the Stonehaven keeper.  After another great passing move involving most of the team, Bruce saw his shot saved.

Dyce were making most of the running at this point, and successive waves of attack saw Fraser hit the bar and Glenn hit the post from the rebound, and after a long run by Bruce, Matty Dick, just on, hit the bar.  It was looking like one of those days.

Stonehaven countered with a good attack, but the shot went narrowly over.  Matty was next to try his luck, but the keeper pulled off a great save, and from the resulting corner Bruce fired just wide.  Glenn hit the post again with the next effort as the first half drew to a close.

Half-time 1-0

The second half started with Dylan in goals and Stonehaven on the front foot.  Cameron blocked their first shot, and Dylan pulled off a great full-length diving save to keep the next effort out.  After shots from Glenn and Bradley came to nothing, Dyce finally scored the second goal their attacking play merited when Bradley’s shot was touched onto the post by the keeper but crept over the line.  The keeper’s luck was out again moments later when a shot from Glenn squirmed under his body and into the net.

A great run down the left wing and cross into the middle by Fraser left Matty with the simple task of netting from a couple of yards.  Stonehaven responded with their best attack of the game, but Dylan saved the powerful shot from their striker.  Matty then played a through ball to Bruce who calmly placed the ball into the net to make it five.

To their credit Stonehaven never gave up and they scored a fine goal from the left, in off the far post.  A Dyce corner was played to Bradley near the back post who scored with a firm left-foot drive.  The scoring was completed when Bradley played in a cross from the left, and once again Matty was in the right place to score from close range.

Full-time 7-1

In ideal playing conditions, this was a good display of passing football and the boys kept going until the goals finally came.
