Stonehaven Munich 1 - 6 Dyce BC Sunday 16th December 2007 Stonehaven On
a cold but sunny day Dyce turned up at Stonehaven for their last match
before the Christmas break, keen to finish off the first half of the
season with a good result. Nathan was welcomed into the goal and keen
to put on a good performance. Right
from the start the football was kept within the midfield areas while
both teams tried to suss each other out, it was a narrow pitch so both
teams were going to have to concentrate when making any long passes to
the forwards. After
5 mins Dyce created a good move down the left between Ben, Liam and
Ryan with the final ball in from Liam met by Calum at the back post
whose shot across the goal narrowly missed. A
short time later Thomas (who was playing outfield for this game)
passed from the back to Calum on the right, he then passed
through to Bradley whose shot went just wide of the post. Dyce
took the lead when the ball was played forward by Ben to Liam who then
crossed towards the Stonehaven goal, Calum was there to tap in past
the keeper. Dyce
were getting the upper hand now and creating a few chances with a
header from Ryan just missing the target. After
11 minutes Dyce went further ahead after a ball was played from the
back to Ryan,he laid it off for Calum whose shot was blocked but
followed in by Liam. Just
before the end of the first period Stonehaven created a couple of
chances, one which resulted in a corner. Whilst this was being
defended Thomas was unlucky to see his headed clearance slip past his
own keeper. 1st

2 The
second period started at a good pace with Dyce pushing for a third
goal, Ben (now the throw in specialist !!) threw the ball to Bradley
who passed to Liam on his left, he sent in a great cross met by Calum
who shot across the keeper into the net. Dyce
kept up the pressure on Stonehaven and after a good throw in by Ben
into the box Bradley back headed the ball onto the bar, quick to the
rebound though was Kieran who headed into the net giving the keeper no
chance. 2nd
period - Stonehaven Munich

4 The
last period saw Dyce master the tight pitch by creating more and more
chances down both wings, the fifth goal came from a move which saw the
ball played out wide to Calum who beat a player and crossed into Ryan
who controlled the ball well and slotted it into the net. Just
before the end of the game a clearance from Ben at the back fell to
Calum who took the ball forward and sent in a cross which was met by
Kieran, he took the ball on the volley shooting low into the net
making it 6 goals for Dyce. Final
