Banchory BC 2 - 4 Dyce BC Sunday 18th November 2007 Banchory On a cold, wet day, Dyce turned up with a team minus Angus Burrows who unfortunately had damaged a bone in his ankle a few days earlier. Banchory were a side who we knew were going to make it a hard game. The pitch was set up quite tightly so there wasn`t the opportunity to play the width as normal however both teams started off a t a good pace creating chances at either end. Dyce took the lead after some pressure down the left resulted in a throw in, which found it`s way to Bradley at the back post, even though he was facing the wrong way he had the presence of mind to back heel the shot into the net, Cheeky !!! Banchory came right back at Dyce and created a good bit of pressure, a good shot from one of their players giving Thomas no chance. Banchory went ahead shortly afterwards after some good play saw them keep possession outside our box before a shot beat our keeper. 1st

Dyce were up for the challenge and equalised through a move down the left came to Bradley, the ball went high into the air and came to Dylan who fired in a shot to beat their keeper. Dyce managed to take the lead through another throw in from the left, but this time the goalscorer Bradley, was facing the opposition goal and hammered in a shot which came off their keeper . 2nd
period – Banchory 2
In the last period Banchory made it really difficult for Dyce to play their usual football, Thomas in our goal was busier than usual and was forced to make some good saves to keep his team in the lead. Our lads at the back, Ben and Matthew had to work really hard to keep the opposition out and they did a great job showing how important it is to have a good defence in any team. Overall this turning out to be a really good game to watch for the spectators with both teams trying to out wit each other. Dyce continued attacking down the left side and this paid off when the ball came to Ryan who allowed the ball to pass his body giving him a yard on the defender before he closed in on goal and fired in a shot low to the keepers right. |
