Portlethen SC 2 - 8 Dyce BC Sunday 14th May 2006 Portlethen Dyce went on the attack early on and good passing on the right between Ryan Gordon and Jack Moir saw Jack's shot beat the goalkeeper all-ends-up but rebound back into play off the post. Good passing play from back to front involving Robbie Collinson, Jack Moir and saw Ryan Gordon react first to Ryan Aitken's cross but he header went wide. Out-stripping the Portlethen defence on the right hand side, Ryan Gordon played in Gareth Ledingham but his effort went wide of the target. After beating a couple of defenders Gareth Ledingham was tackled just outside the box and the ball broke kindly to Ryan Aitken who shot from the edge of the box and although the keeper made a good save, Ryan Gordon was first to the rebound to put Dyce one up.
Loose defending by Dyce led to Portlethen equallising from ten yards. Dyce went straight up to the other end and won a corner and with the ball bobbling in the box, Ryan Gordon cleverly passed the ball to Jack Moir who shot home. Good interpassing saw Ryan Aitken played in and although beating the goalkeeper his effort hit the post. Dyce were now playing good flowing football and after another good passing move, Nicol Christie was brought down fifteen yards from goal. Nicol dusted himself down, took the free-kick and hit a screamer into the back of the net.
When a corner kick to Dyce wasn't cleared properly, Nicol Christie reacted quickest and fired Dyce into a 4 - 2 lead from close range. Latching on to a long clearance, Ryan Gordon outpaced the Portlethen defence and played a great ball to Jack Moir who gave the keeper no chance from ten yards.
Half Time: 2 - 5
Getting on the end of another good passing move, Ryan Gordon played in Jack Moir who scored to complete his hat-trick. Dyce were playing some great football now and after a through ball wasn't properly cut-out by the Portlethen defence, Ryan Gordon nipped in to score his second of the game and the seventh for Dyce.
Getting on the end of a Robbie Collinson cross, Ryan Aitken's goalbound headed produced a great stop from the Portlethen keeper. Paul Noble in goals, was beaten by a long range effort by Portlethen but it hit the bar and rebounded into play. It was then only half cleared but this time Paul pulled off a great save from a fierce Portlethen effort. Winning the ball in the middle of the park Gareth Ledingham lost his marker and played a defence splitting pass through to Craig MacAskill who cooly slotted past the goalkeeper from close range.
