Club News Stepping Up

Jamie Massie, most recently captain of our under 15’s team has signed for Dundee FC after a short trial period. There are big hopes that Jamie will be able to successfully move from the Dundee under 15’s to the under 17’s and onwards in the future. Jamie started out with the club through our highly successful summer coaching and has played for Dyce BC from under 8’s to under 15’s. At the end of last season Jamie was jointly awarded the Alan Thoars Trophy for good service and outstanding achievement.

Well done Jamie, all the very best from all at Dyce BC in your future football career!!

Congratulations to two of our boys who have recently signed for professional clubs

Ross Burns moved from our 2005 side to Dundee FC as you can see happily signing hopefully his first of many professional contracts

Luke Emmett signed for Aberdeen FC from our under 15s and there are big hopes he can push himself into the successful under 20s and first team at the dons in the near future

Best of luck to both the boys from everyone at the club

2004's Club News Former Players Stepping Up

There was a unique and proud moment for Dyce Boys Club on Saturday 8th November as Aberdeen FC took on Dundee FC at Forfar Athletics stadium

The Five former Dyce teammates Jack Bowden, Aaron Reid (Aberdeen FC) Ryan Park, Ryan McShea, Lucas Smith (Dundee FC) at the 2004 age group played in the match and performed to their usual high standards by all accounts. I wont say which boys were the happier with the result but as you can see they were very happy to see old friends at the final whistle

Congratulations to Ryan McShea from our 2004′s team who has signed with SPFL side Dundee FC

Ryan joined Dyce BC in February 2013, aged 8-years old, after playing for Ellon Meadows. He enjoyed an excellent first year with the Club. His hard work and skill on the pitch and at training saw him presented with the ‘The Liam Connon Trophy for Clubman of The Year’ in November 2013. Ryan completed the 2-year ‘Advanced Skills Centre’ program with Aberdeen FC and trialed for their under-10 squad in January 2014.

Ryan’s Dad said “Ryan joined Dyce in 2013 and has been incredibly proud to play for the Club. There’s a tremendous team spirit throughout the entire club. We would like to thank all the coaches for their tremendous coaching and commitment to the development of youth football. Thank you for encouraging and motivating Ryan to progress and develop. Special thanks to Eric Mannall for his invaluable guidance and dedication.”

Congratulations to Lucas Smith from our 2004′s team who has signed with SPFL side Dundee FC

Lucas joined the club four years ago on his return from Singapore and followed in his brothers footsteps by playing for the club. He even had to put up with his own dad coaching him at times but it didn’t stop him progressing through the levels always showing a fantastic attitude and will to learn.

Lucas’s Dad, Paul said ” Lucas has loved every minute of his time with Dyce, from his formative years in 4v4 before moving into 7 a side and would like to thank all the coaches that have helped his development whilst at Dyce.”

Congratulations to Rio Collie from our 2004′s team who has signed with SPFL side Dundee FC

Rio joined the club four years ago and has came through our summer coaching, 4 v 4 and into the 7 a side game with a great level of skill and attitude

Rio’s mum said ” Rio joined Dyce in 2010 at the age of 6. He has really enjoyed playing with Dyce for the past 4 years and is very grateful to all the coaches and team mates for his progress and development along the way”

Jack Bowden, formerly of Dyce Boys Club 2004′s has signed for Aberdeen Football Club.

Jack was invited to join Dyce Boys Club after attending the summer coaching initiative In May 2011 age 6. He played In various 4 x 4 tournaments and was also given the opportunity to play 7 a side football against boys 2 yrs older.

He trialled for AFC Advanced Centre in Nov 2011 and started the training early the following year. During this period a highlight for him was to play on the pitch at half time in the AFC v Man Utd Neil Simpson testimonial Aug 12.  He was also lucky enough to feature in an SFA coaching DVD through his involvement with AFC.

In January 13 he was invited to train 3 times per week with AFC 2003′s and played a couple of games one of which was against Dundee United. This was fitted in around his training and playing for Dyce Boys Club in a very successful season for the 2004 Dyce team.

He signed for AFC  2004′s in the summer of 2013 and has had the opportunity of playing for AFC 2003′s against St Mirren and more recently in a game against Kilmarnock he scored twice.

Jack’s father, Martin Bowden, said ‘Jack enjoyed three years at Dyce  where he worked with some excellent coaches and made some great friends.’

Ethan Smith of DBC U13′s signs for AFC

Stepping Up Under 13's

Dyce boys club would like to wish Ethan Smith all the best following his recent move to Aberdeen under 13′s.

Ethan was joined at Pittodrie by his U13 Dyce Coach, Jim Wiseman when he signed for Aberdeen.

Ethan joined Dyce in March 2010, when his family returned to the area from Singapore and has played under various coaches Eric Mannall, Chris Duncan, Ian Duncan, Gordon Minty, Jake Petrie before moving to competitive football where he was spotted by Aberdeen Scout and played a few matches as a trialist for Aberdeen before being asked to sign for them recently.

Since joining Aberdeen, he’s played against Kilmarnock, Forth Valley, Hibs, Hearts, Rangers & Dundee Utd and scored 3 goals to date.

Well done Ethan, keep up the good work !!

Aaron Reid, formerly of Dyce Boys Club 2004′s has signed for Aberdeen Football Club.

Aaron joined Dyce Boys Club in 2010 as a six year old after attending the summer coaching programme. He joined the clubs 4 v 4 development teams for two seasons. In mid 2012, Aaron and his teammates in the 2004 age group moved to the 7 a side game. Aaron spent a very happy and successful period  with his team only losing once in the year he played with the team.

In August 2013, Aaron was invited to join a group of boys Aberdeen Football Club were looking to become their new under 10′s squad for coming season. After a six week trial he was invited to join the squad. He was obviously delighted to be asked to join the club that he supports and has really enjoyed the first few months with the club meeting new team mates, learning a new team system and playing in a number of different positions, his favourite being striker.

He has scored 25 goals over the first 3 months of the season and has been fortunate enough to have been asked to play for the under 11′s on two occasions, travelling to Partick Thistle in Glasgow and also playing against Rangers at Murray Park. Both days were a great experience.
